Growing up in a small coastal village in China, Xia discovered beauty in the world around her—from seashells collected along the shore to changing seasons, blooming gardens, and the simple joy of creating something by hand. Those early experiences shaped a belief that still guides the brand today: the most beautiful spaces feel natural, timeless, and deeply personal.
That passion led Xia to study fashion design, where she developed a strong foundation in color, textiles, pattern, proportion, and craftsmanship. Her early career working with fine art, antiques, porcelain, jade, and classical furniture deepened her appreciation for authenticity, enduring quality, and thoughtful design. She learned that truly beautiful objects are never defined by trends—they are defined by craftsmanship, purpose, and the stories they carry.
In 2001, Xia moved to the United States and founded Intrepid International Trading Co., LLC. What began as a small entrepreneurial venture has grown into Xia Home Fashions—a home lifestyle brand dedicated to creating thoughtfully designed home textiles, accent pieces, and home décor for customers across North America.
Today, every collection reflects the brand's inspiration: European architecture, botanical gardens, coastal living, traditional craftsmanship, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.
